Residential Counselor / Social Worker – $2,500 Bonus

The Buckeye Ranch is seeking a Counselor/Social Worker to join our Residential Treatment Facility. The Counselor/Social Worker will counsel individuals ages 9 to 17 years, families, and groups to treat mental health and individual and family welfare problems such as stress, substance abuse, or family dysfunction and develop and implement appropriate therapeutic treatment plans.

• Identify indicators of age‑appropriate development in all domains for children of varying ages.
• Assess clients for appropriate level of care, including behavioral examples, including frequency, duration, severity, and environmental impacts.
• Identify history of trauma, adversity and/or toxic stress that influence presenting problem(s), functioning, and family interaction styles. Determine the level of immediate and future risk of abuse or neglect to children.
• Identify cultural factors that influence strengths, functioning, and family interaction styles. Identify strengths and functioning of both client and family for utilization in treatment.
• Develop training plans and facilitate coaching, ensuring that services are family focused.
• Establish rapport; maintain effective working relationships with diverse individuals; listen actively & effectively; clearly convey information in a non‑judgmental manner; recognize and manage personal biases; maintain professional demeanor and appropriate professional boundaries.
• Effectively facilitate individual youth clients, with or without family members, through active engagement utilizing strength‑based language in interactions.
• Provide transportation to clients to courts, SARs, and other required meetings as needed.
• Use trauma‑informed, focused interventions to engage clients. Educate clients, family members, and other providers about health‑care conditions, prevention, available treatments, illness and whole‑health self‑management, peer support and recovery.
• Document in accordance with standards of practice and established policies and procedures of the Ranch.
• Advocate on behalf of clients and families with external agencies, within the family, and internally.

• You have a bachelor's degree in a related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
• You have 1 to 2 years related experience.
• You have an active Ohio LSW, LPC, or MFT licensure.
• You have a valid driver’s license and must keep insurance on your vehicle and maintain a clean driving record in accordance with policies.
