At CVS Health, our Pharmacy Technicians support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within our stores. They are often the first point of contact, assisting patients and customers to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service that exceeds expectations. Technicians apply Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication to maintain a safe and inclusive culture.
Responsibilities- Follow all company SOPs at each pharmacy workstation to manage and improve patient health.
- Execute pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care: create heartfelt moments while serving patients and offer immunizations and other services.
- Complete inventory activities as directed: put away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, waiting bin inventories, etc.
- Engage in a high‑performing team: embrace a growth mindset, accept feedback, and seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs; volunteer to travel to stores in the market as required.
- Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; uphold CVS policies and procedures for patient safety and recordkeeping.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and volunteer staffing offsite clinics, where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification.
- Support immunizations: obtain Technician Immunizer status, educate patients about vaccines, monitor for adverse reactions, review and document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies.
- Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
- State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Focus, customer service, communication skills, mathematical reasoning, problem resolution, and physical demands as outlined in the full function list.
- 1‑3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs.

$17.00 – $17.00 per hour. The actual base salary offer will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
