Position
Purpose:
In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors, the Instrument Technician Non‑Certified is responsible for the reprocessing of reusable general hospital and surgical equipment and supplies, including advanced surgical instruments, laparoscopic instruments, orthopedic specialty instruments, and case carts.

- Provide decontamination process procedures.
- Perform assembly process and procedures.
- Perform sterilization process and procedures.
- Perform sterile storage and inventory control process procedures.
- Prepare case carts using appropriate pick sheets or preference cards.
- Perform duties independently across multiple specialties.
- Operate proficiently without direct supervision.
- Report inventory shortages and missing instrumentation to the supervisor.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Prioritize workload.
- Accurately identify various surgical instrumentation.
- Use proper packaging and processing techniques.
- Communicate back‑order information and provide appropriate substitutions.
- Ensure proper quality assurance documentation.
- Participate in performance improvement activities at the intra‑ and inter‑departmental level.
- Maintain organizational integrity and report potential wrongdoing.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Education:
High School graduate or equivalent. - Experience:
Preferred but not required. - Effective communication and basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and participate in a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
