Functions
Summary:
Ensure that customers both internal and external receive the quality emergency vehicle that they expect by inspecting the emergency vehicle and making any necessary repairs/corrections prior to shipment.
- Understand engineering drawings and customer specifications
- Inspect finished ambulances to determine defects and conformance to applicable standards and regulations; perform electrical load and function testing, perform road tests
- Perform both electrical and cosmetic inspections
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re‑work and waste; inputting data into quality database
- Possess good mechanical aptitude
- Have knowledge of basic 12‑volt electrical systems
- Understand measuring products such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
- Understand and carry out verbal and written directions in English
- Function with minimal supervision or no supervision
- Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
- Effectively communicate in English
- Good interpersonal skills required to communicate problems verbally
- Ability to rotate and learn multiple quality inspection gates
- Handle multiple assignments daily as required
- Assist quality supervisor in quality and production improvements
- Familiarity with all quality standards and test protocols
- Valid Ohio driver’s license
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English
- Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
- Knowledge and proper use of all safety equipment provided
- Read and follow written instructions/specifications
- Proficient PC skills with knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Good hand‑eye coordination
- Build relationships between quality and production and coworkers
- Three years experience in Horton electrical installation and troubleshooting
- Previous experience in a quality control or quality assurance environment preferred
- High School Degree; further qualifications will be a plus
- Customer service experience
