Position: Cabinet Maker I

Requisition

Responsibilities
  • Installation and fabrication of cabinet components and hardware.
  • Set up and operate a variety of machines and use various hand tools to fabricate cabinets.
  • Mark outlines or dimensions of parts according to blueprint or drawing specifications.
  • Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled.

Requirements
  • One or more years of cabinet making experience or similar experience.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and follow other written or verbal instructions.
  • Close attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices.
  • Ability to laminate cabinets and panels as needed.
  • Familiarity with the safe operation of various pneumatic and power tools, including but not limited to drills, screw guns, table saw, band saw, and routers.
  • Ability to use basic mathematics.
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
Physical Demands

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling or bending positions.
  • Ability to work with arms above head.
  • Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding.
  • Ability to stand at a workstation for eight hours a day (minus specified breaks).
  • Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools, and machinery.
  • Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Must be able to endure repetitive motions (hand crimping). The employee must not suffer from any preexisting conditions, such as carpal tunnel or tennis elbow, or any other medical condition that may be aggravated by such motions.
  • Ability to work in 105‑degree heat for excess of ten (10) hours per day.
  • Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions.
Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, frequently is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration, occasionally works near electrical parts and is at risk to shock, and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is elevated.
