The Medical/Surgical (MIMCU, Oncology) unit at Mount Carmel Grove City is a 42‑bed unit. The Registered Nurse will care for a mix of cardiac, end‑of‑life, oncology, and medical/surgical patients in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment focused on individualized and evidence‑based care.

Position Purpose
Within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, the staff RN will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. The RN collaborates in the spirit of teamwork and is accountable for the delivery of patient care using the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the organization.
What You Will Do
- Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence‑based practice; assist the provider with patient assessment, examinations, and treatments; perform basic medical procedures under provider supervision.
- Administer medications under provider direction per organization standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
- Assist in emergency situations under provider direction.
- Thoroughly educate patients and family members on procedures, diagnoses, and disease processes.
- Document accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions, and outcomes per documentation standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a school of nursing.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation to and supervision of other team members.
- Basic computer skills; prior EMR charting experience preferred.
