The Pre‑op/Post‑op/PACU department at Mount Carmel Grove City has 20 pre‑op/post‑op bays and 14 PACU bays. The registered nurse will care for inpatient and outpatient cases related to surgery, endoscopy, IR, myelograms, and MRIs. PACU nurse‑to‑patient ratios are 2:1 (with exceptions for ICU, Pre‑op and Post‑op). The department offers flexible hours in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

Position PurposeWithin the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, the RN delivers comprehensive care supporting patients’ physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The RN collaborates with the surgery and anesthesia teams to provide exemplary patient care, following the Nursing Process and departmental policies and procedures.
What You Will Do- Provide nursing care, ensuring patient safety and promoting evidence‑based practice within the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® framework.
- Assess and evaluate patients, collaborate with patients and families to develop and implement holistic care plans.
- Communicate timely and accurately with the care team, keeping patients and families informed.
- Document assessments, interventions and outcomes in accordance with documentation standards and guidelines.
- Assume responsibility for care documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers as appropriate.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- At least 2 years of clinical experience for casual RNs.
- New graduate RN candidates with less than one year of experience will be enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.
