You can work as much or as little as you like. As an On‑Demand Team Member, you won’t appear on a posted schedule but will have the opportunity to pick up shifts that best fit your schedule through the myTime mobile scheduling app. Reliable, prompt attendance and active engagement (picking up at least four hours of work each 4‑week period) are required.

About Service & Engagement

Guest Advocates welcome, thank and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. You will be empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick‑up and drive‑up while ensuring exceptional quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience by meeting Target’s service standard.
• Greet guests and create a welcoming experience while completing daily tasks.
• Engage guests in a welcoming way to solve their specific needs.
• Know the tools, products and services available in the total store and use that knowledge to improve the guest experience.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards.
• Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy.
• Make guests aware of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities and events.
• Assist with Target Loyalty program enrollment and activation.
• Use the Target App to share benefits, Wallet and other features.
• Attempt every return and follow register prompts, using Target policies and procedures.
• De‑escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience while following Target policies and procedures.
• Deliver accurate service to Order Pick‑Up, Drive‑Up and Registry guests.
• Maintain a clean, clutter‑free work area and gather abandoned items, baskets and hangers.
• Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest.
• Support guest services such as order pick‑up (OPU), Drive‑Up (DU) Orders, DU Returns and maintain compliance culture.
• Support Cash Office processes as needed, including managing cash systems.
• All other duties as requested based on business needs.

Required Skills and Experience

• Communicate effectively and use positive language to meet guest needs.
• Remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment, accomplishing multiple tasks within established time‑frames.
• Display a welcoming attitude toward guests and other team members.
• Attention to detail while multi‑tasking.
• Educate guests and engage around products and services.
• Operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
• Work independently and with a team.

Additional Expectations

• Accurately handle cash register operations, cash transactions and support cash office operations.
• Efficiently scan, handle and move merchandise safely (lifting up to 10 pounds and sometimes lifting up to 44 pounds without additional assistance).
• Flexibility when picking up shifts (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays).
• Active engagement by picking up and working shifts and responding to attempts k at least one shift within 5 months or be administratively terminated.
• Work in varying temperatures, humidity and other elements while performing certain job duties including Drive‑Up, carry‑out and more.
