You will be instrumental in supporting the business plan through profitable revenue generation and gain hands-on training in the field, selling to actual customers with the opportunity to impact the company’s bottom line, increasing your skills and confidence.
The position can be located anywhere in one of United Rentals’ 1200+ locations across North America, working in conjunction with local branches and, when necessary, relocating within driving distance of a branch.
- Qualify and quantify the needs of our existing customer base using our CRM () and persuasive selling techniques
- Validate and collect primary decision maker information and customer needs for use in future sales and marketing campaigns
- Leverage marketing and sales tools to identify and sell to new customers
- Recover declining and dormant customers using our sales tools and United Rentals value proposition
- Support and learn branch operations; learn to use United Rentals' IT systems for quotes, rental, sales, reservations, and territory management
- Coordinate with all branch departments to ensure customer satisfaction and communicate field issues to branch personnel
- Work with ISR’s to provide solutions around equipment needs assessment, training, demonstrations, quotations, catalogs, and credit applications
- Negotiate prices on equipment rentals and sales per pricing policies
- Drive customer engagement to local events and promotions
- Perform duties as assigned by management
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- One year of experience in a sales-related role preferred
- Proven planning, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (at least 1 year)
- Strong presentation skills and sales orientation
- Strong teamwork and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Willing and able to relocate
