Job OverviewJoin our growing team as an Automation Fulfillment Specialist, responsible for developing new customer relationships and guiding prospective customers through the transition to becoming Kern purchasers.
This role focuses on multiformat end‑of‑line automation solutions, including packing, palletizing, and logistics handling systems, serving system integrators, third‑party logistics providers (3PLs), and e‑commerce operations.
You will stay informed on packaging industry trends, customer workflows, and Kern’s equipment and software capabilities, identifying opportunities where Kern solutions deliver practical, scalable, and saleable value. This role requires consistently representing the Kern brand in a professional and positive manner.

You are comfortable building relationships, asking the right questions, and translating complex workflows into effective automation solutions. Experience in packaging, automation, or fulfillment environments will support success in this position.
What You’ll Do- Identify and research market‑specific needs and develop tailored product and service solutions
- Execute customer contact plans to support product launches and targeted sales campaigns
- Build new customer relationships and meet established growth targets within assigned market segments
- Stay current on Kern equipment, new products, promotions, and competitive offerings
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to develop proposals, presentations, and pricing models
- Present and close technical solutions to decision‑makers
- Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with business objectives
- Create and manage sales forecasts for customers, brokers, and distributors
- Manage pipeline activity and opportunities
- Support sales training and certification initiatives aligned with market needs
- Address objections through value‑based selling, highlighting Kern advantages such as automation, on‑demand packaging, and sustainability
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience, preferably in packaging or automation
- Experience with corrugated packaging or packaging solutions strongly preferred
- Familiarity with logistics modeling, warehouse design, or fulfillment optimization tools
- Strong sales execution and pipeline management experience
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Prior cold‑calling experience preferred
- Proactive, self‑driven approach to business development
- Ability and willingness to travel 50% or more as needed
