Purpose/Summary

Lead auger crew members safely run jobsite operations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Work concurrently with crew to complete job while supervising work.
  • Ensure that established safety procedures are followed.
  • Provide work direction, and promote teamwork, amongst the crew members.
  • Daily logging and review of crew members hours to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Represent the company on and off job sites and communicate effectively with general contractors and subcontractors.
  • Implement company policies and procedures to ensure work performance complies with ISO, OSHA standards, and DOT regulations.
  • Complete new hire paperwork for local union members when required.
  • Provide daily reporting via tablet as required to administrative personnel.
  • Interface with internal and external customers to ensure satisfactory job completion.
  • Communicate all problems to the superintendent in a timely manner.
  • Verify auger details prior to starting the job.
  • Inspect augers prior to use.
  • Perform brace and auger maintenance as required.
  • Verify ground locates have been completed prior to auger installation.
  • Complete layouts of drawings as required for auger installation.
  • Complete work in a manner that minimizes cleanup work.
  • Basic Qualifications

    • Valid commercial driver’s license (class

      A).
    • Minimum of two years’ experience in commercial driving.
    • Experience operating a skid steer.

    Other Required Qualifications

    • Computer skills.
    • Ability to use construction mensuration equipment (transits, levels, laser levels).
    • Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct.
    • Possess excellent work habits and demonstrate them to subordinates.
    • Knowledge of crane setup and signaling.
    • Knowledgeable about erecting pre-cast buildings.
    • Effective communication skills at various levels.
    • Ability to foresee potential problems and take preventive actions.
    • Organized work approach and adaptability to change.
    • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Completion of OSHA 30-hour training.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to travel as required.
    • Ability to work extensive overtime.
    • Ability to work at heights.
    • Ability to traverse uneven ground, move minimum of 50 lbs., and climb on flatbed semi-trailers.

    Work Environments

    • Field conditions include all weather types, dirt, dust, and noise from machinery and vehicles.
