Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Installation Mechanic to join our fast‑growing Ohio team. The ideal candidate will bring a can‑do attitude, strong problem‑solving skills, and a high level of customer service to the role.
Job Responsibilities- Independently install equipment and ductwork.
- Complete daily paperwork and accurately record materials used on each job.
- Coordinate with general contractors and other trades during equipment installation and ductwork operations.
- Layout roof curbs and fabricate duct fittings, working without supervision.
- Read blueprints and lay out ducts; create materials lists from blueprints.
- Perform all jobs with safety as the top priority.
- Engage in continual learning and development through First Call Academy to maintain industry‑leading skill levels.
- Deliver elite customer service to reinforce First Call as the go‑to HVAC provider.
This position reports to the local Install Manager and collaborates closely with the install team and customers.
Qualifications- 3–6+ years of experience in HVAC install mechanics.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- OSHA 10 certification required.
- Availability for flexible hours, on‑call shifts, and travel as needed.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to interpret State mechanical codes.
- Physical capability to lift 75 pounds and regularly move objects up to 50 pounds; work in awkward positions, ladders, or scaffolding.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos, and short correspondence; ability to write clear correspondence; ability to effectively present information to customers and teammates.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; interpret graphs.
Reasoning AbilityApply common sense and critical thinking to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions; manage problems with multiple variables; maintain mental stamina for problem‑solving and task prioritization.
Physical DemandsRegular use of hands; frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; lifting and moving up to 50 pounds; requires close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision; ability to adjust focus.
