Job Description As a Security Officer – Access Control Driver in Groveland, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Security Officer specializing in access control within a dynamic technology environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure atmosphere for all personnel and visitors.
Your responsibilities include managing badge access, conducting routine patrols, and providing exceptional customer service while upholding Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, and integrity. - Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
- Manage access control procedures at the location by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and granting or denying access based on authorized protocols.
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by addressing inquiries and offering guidance related to entry processes and location procedures.
- Carry out security-related procedures according to site-specific policies, including responding to alarms and assisting with emergency situations as directed.
- Help to deter unauthorized access or suspicious activity by maintaining a visible presence and observing for unusual behavior.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with appropriate personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to monitor for security-related concerns or policy violations.
- Complete required reports and documentation regarding access incidents, policy violations, or other security-related events.
- Availability across various days and shifts
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
- Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- At least one year of security-related experience is required.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Possession of a Guard Card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
