Job DescriptionThe Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional customer experience through the meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle, restoring it to its pre‑accident condition. The Technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles each vehicle, playing a pivotal role in delivering speed, quality, and customer excellence. This role works in alignment with all team members to achieve repair‑facility KPIs and serves as a dedicated Brand Ambassador for The Boyd Group.
Key Job Responsibilities- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates, and use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
- Address dents, dimples, and minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when other methods are not feasible.
- Realign chassis and frames to correct structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts; replace or repair glass and windshields as needed.
- Replace or repair interior parts as required.
- Weld and assemble parts; prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified paint or agreed‑upon equivalent.
- Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and ensure all work is correctly executed through post‑repair inspection.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
- Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to collaborate with other repairers in the shop.
- Thorough understanding of vehicle body repair methods and procedures.
- Proficiency in using the tools required for the trade.
- Work safely in a noisy area with many odors.
- Lifting up to 30 pounds at times.
- Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat for repairs and inspections.

Compensation$22–$28 per hour flat rate, performance‑based structure tied to turned hours (booked hours). Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience. This position may also be eligible for bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives.
