We are looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for growth in their career, with the ability and interest to mentor our junior staff. If you have experience working directly with clients on complex bookkeeping engagements or experience at the assistant controller level, we want to meet you!
Month‑End Close & Financial Ownership- Complete full month‑end close for assigned clients.
- Prepare reconciliations, working papers, and supporting schedules.
- Support regulatory compliance activities as assigned (e.g., HST/GST filings and remittances, payroll source deductions, WSIB reporting).
- A focus on building meaningful relationships with both clients and RLB team members.
- Act as a primary day‑to‑day contact for bookkeeping‑related matters.
- Support a high‑quality client experience through responsiveness and reliability.
- Escalate issues appropriately and collaborate with other team members.
- Support and mentor junior staff or bookkeepers, helping standardize processes and maintain high‑quality work.
- You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in full‑cycle bookkeeping, including posting Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll, and have experience preparing and analyzing financial statements.
- You are highly comfortable working in cloud‑based accounting platforms such as Quick Books Online, Xero, or similar tools.
- You are tech‑savvy with the ability to design new processes and workflows for our clients.
- You have strong Excel skills and are confident preparing reports, reconciliations, and schedules.
- You are comfortable adopting new tools, workflows, and automation, and enjoy finding better ways to work.
- You move beyond “closing the books” to understanding what the numbers mean.
- You can identify trends, anomalies, and risks and communicate them clearly.
- You are confident interacting with clients and explaining financial information in a thoughtful, professional manner.
- You are proactive, organized, and motivated by making an impact.
- You have a proven ability to identify issues and problem‑solve to confidently advise our clients on sales tax, payroll and complex transactions.
Pay range: $55,000 - $65,000
Compensation within the advertised range is based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and professional designations. RLB LLP recognizes that candidates may not fit precisely within a predefined range; therefore, final compensation will reflect the full breadth of skills, experience, and expertise the individual brings to the role.
