Assistant Manager​/Manager

Our client, a public accounting firm, is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager/Manager to join their dynamic team. If you are a driven CPA who possesses a strong understanding of assurance and ASPE, this opportunity is for you! Our client has been in business for over 30 years and works with small and midsize private companies in a variety of industries including;

manufacturing, construction, real-estate, and distribution. This role is crucial for bridging the gap between junior staff and senior leadership, offering significant growth potential within a collaborative environment.

• Review year-end audit, review, and compilation engagements, ensuring adherence to Canadian professional standards.
• Plan, execute, and complete engagement files as needed, occasionally acting as team leader on larger engagements.
• Review various tax returns (corporate, personal, trust, partnership, HST/GST).
• Identify and recommend practical solutions for accounting, assurance, and tax issues.
• Supervise, coach, and review the work of junior and intermediate staff.
• Communicate effectively with clients to gather information, resolve queries, and maintain strong relationships.
• Ensure accurate and efficient completion of engagement files within deadlines and budgets.
• Support advisory work, including bookkeeping clean-up, tax planning, and process improvements.
• Stay current with CPA Ontario requirements, Canadian accounting standards (ASPE), and tax legislation.

• CPA designation is required.
• 3 plus years of experience in Public Accounting is required.
• Strong background and proficiency in assurance work.
• In-depth understanding of ASPE.
• Comfortable and proficient with cloud-based systems and technology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
