Overview
Full Time Vascular Surgery Locum Position - Guelph General Hospital. Guelph General Hospital Level 2 Regional Vascular Program is seeking an RCPSC-certified Vascular Surgeon to join our growing team in Guelph, Ontario. This is a one year locum position to fill an absence starting in 2026. Start time is flexible depending on candidate availability. The locum candidate may subsequently apply for an additional Full Time permanent position planned for July 2027.
As a key member of our medical team, you will collaborate with a dedicated group of experienced Vascular Surgeons to provide regional care to the city and surrounding communities. Expected call is one in 5. Catchment population is approximately 1 million people. We cover the entire region of Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, and surrounding areas.
The applying candidate needs to be proficient in: EVAR, open AAA, hybrid vascular procedures, CEA, limb salvage, peripheral bypass surgery, dialysis access, & endovascular procedures.
This position is a full time position.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with a collegial team of Vascular Surgeons to provide regional care.
- Participate in regional coverage with expected call frequency as described.
- Engage in multidisciplinary care with access to specialized facilities and supports.
- Join a well-established, collegial team of Vascular Surgeons
- Access to Philips Hybrid operating suite with an expected complete upgrade within one year
- Access to turnkey endovenous outpatient facility
- Access to Wound clinic, onsite full-time nurse practitioner for inpatient care
- Access with possible reading privileges at a vascular ultrasound facility
- Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential
- Opportunity for shared office space
- Even distribution of surgical resources among all members
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certification in Vascular Surgery
- Current licensure to practice medicine in Ontario
