University Vaccarino President Scholarship Undergraduate
The Dr. Franco J. Vaccarino President’s Scholarship is the University of Guelph’s most prestigious undergraduate entrance award dedicated to exceptional international students. Established in honour of the University’s eighth president, Dr. Franco Vaccarino, this scholarship recognizes his remarkable contributions and lasting impact on the institution. It aims to celebrate and support the brightest global learners who bring excellence, leadership, and innovation to their educational journey.
Each year, only one outstanding international student is selected to receive this highly competitive award. Valued at $42,500, the scholarship includes a summer research assistantship, personalized mentorship from one of the University’s leading professors, and guaranteed first-choice residence for the first year of study.
The scholarship seeks students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance, meaningful community involvement, and exceptional leadership abilities. Applicants should show a strong commitment to driving positive change through innovative ideas and impactful actions.
Eligible candidates must be international students entering their first semester of any undergraduate program at the University of Guelph, hold a minimum admission average equivalent to 90%, and have no previous post-secondary attendance.
Canadian citizens and permanent residents are not eligible and are encouraged to consider the President’s Scholarship or the Lincoln Alexander Chancellor’s Scholarship instead.
