The Role
As a Teacher‑Tutor, you’ll work as an Interactive Coach
, supporting up to three students at a time
, each working at their own level.
- Teach senior‑level math (Grades 9–12), including Advanced Functions, Calculus, Data Management, Algebra, Trigonometry, and Vectors
- Deliver instruction following Oxford Learning’s methodologies
- Complete brief post‑lesson notes and daily student updates
Maintain a friendly, professional, and encouraging presence
Help students build confidence, skills, and independence
Schedule & Commitment- Mandatory availability:
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM - Optional:
Saturdays, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM - After‑school and evening hours only
- Commitment through the end of the school year preferred (summer availability is a plus)
We encourage you to apply if you meet most of the following:
Education- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
- Fourth‑year university students with strong tutoring experience considered
- Teaching certification is an asset
- French (spoken and written) is a strong asset
- Experience teaching or tutoring Grades 10–12 math
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario senior math curriculum
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Confident math skills and ability to explain concepts clearly
- Ability to multitask and work with multiple students
- Dependable, organized, and student‑focused
- In‑person position at our Guelph learning centre
- Applicants must live in or near the Guelph area and be able to commute
- This is not an online role
- Vulnerable Sector Screening is required
- Relocation packages are not available
Compensation/Salary: $19/hour
