As a key member of the Learning & Curriculum Support team at the University of Guelph, the Access Services Assistant plays a vital role in connecting library users to resources and technology. Responsibilities include assisting students and faculty in utilizing library services through various communication channels, and managing interlibrary loan processes. You will work in a diverse and dynamic environment aiding users in their academic pursuits.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide effective patron services and library resource instruction
• Manage Resource Sharing and Interlibrary Loan services
• Collaborate with the team for effective student staff training
• Enforce library policies while supporting diverse user needs
• Troubleshoot access and technology issues for users
Requirements:
• Library & Information Technician Diploma or Bachelor’s degree
• Relevant experience or a combination of education and experience
• Customer service experience with a focus on problem-solving
• Advanced proficiency in digital library systems and tools
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure
Support library users at the McLaughlin Library through exceptional service, collaboration, and access management.
