Hours: 32.50 hours per week; full-time
Hourly Rate: $30.92 - $36.74 per hour, plus applicable vacation pay in accordance with the ESA; wage rate effective September 1, 2025
Start Date: As soon as possible
End Date: Unknown end date not to exceed June 26th, 2026.
Board Information: 10-month position (yearly from September – June following the school year calendar); temporary; full-time;

Responsibilities- Educational Assistants work with students with many diverse needs. This work provides support for the behaviour, safety, medical and physical needs of a student.
- Duties may include lifting, toileting, positioning and transferring children and equipment and application of BMS.
- Educational Assistants work with students both individually and/or in a group setting.
- Flexibility, patience, empathy and the ability to work closely with students with complex needs, classroom teacher, parents and Administration.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preference will be given to candidates who have the following qualifications:
- Educational Assistant Diploma, and/or a combination of formal education (fields related to the development of children and/or special education) and work experience deemed equivalent by the Board.
- Post-Secondary Degree in a related field of study.
- A valid Behaviour Management Systems certification is required for this position.
- Proven ability and recent experience in working with students with special needs and behavioural disabilities is strongly preferred and school-based experience is a definite asset.
- Autism Spectrum Disorder Training.
- Lifting/Positioning Training.
- Flexibility, patience, empathy and the ability to work closely with students with complex needs, classroom teacher, parents and Administration.
- Candidates must be capable of performing the essential physical duties of the position, such as lifting, positioning and transferring children and equipment and utilizing BMS techniques where required.
- Access to a reliable method of transportation and ability to attend specific schools.
