Position: Library Access Services Role – University
Join the University of Guelph as an Access Services Assistant within the McLaughlin Library. Engage patrons, manage resource sharing, and ensure a seamless library experience in a supportive role.

The Access Services Assistant is an integral part of the Learning & Curriculum Support team at the McLaughlin Library. This position is responsible for providing patron instruction, assisting users with technology and library resources, and helping streamline interlibrary loan processes. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with diverse teams while offering front-line support during library operating hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patrons with library resources and services effectively

• Oversee Resource Sharing and Interlibrary Loan requests

• Facilitate student staff training and team collaboration

• Communicate and reinforce library policies with users

• Address and resolve technology access issues promptly

Requirements:

• Diploma in Library & Information Technology or Bachelor’s degree

• At least 18 months of relevant library work experience

• Proven outstanding customer service ethic and communication skills

• Familiarity with Alma LSP and digital information management

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
