Position: Occasional Teacher – Social Science Position

From September 2, 2026, to February 2, 2027, the Upper Grand District School Board is hiring a Long Term Occasional Teacher for one Social Science section. Candidates will provide high-quality instruction and support student achievement, fulfilling the standards of the Ontario Ministry of Education. This position emphasizes the importance of an inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure uninterrupted learning during regular teacher’s leave

• Create lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives

• Monitor and support student progress

• Engage with school community to enrich student experiences

• Address classroom behavior and challenges proactively

Requirements:

• Hold Senior Social Science qualifications

• Demonstrate a commitment to equity in education

• Ability to engage with diverse student populations

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

• Valid certification to teach in Ontario
