Position: Long Term Occasional Teacher - Grade 5/6
Join the UGDSB as a Long Term Occasional Teacher for Grade 5/6 in Westwood starting September 2, 2026. Provide quality education and support student achievement during the regular teacher's absence.

This 1.0 FTE role covers a temporary position from September 2, 2026, to June 30, 2027. Successful candidates should possess junior grade level teaching experience and certification to teach in Ontario. Your responsibilities will include delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive classroom atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality education for Grade 5/6 students

• Develop engaging lesson plans that meet student needs

• Assess and track student progress effectively

• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment

• Collaborate with staff and parents to support students

Requirements:

• Experience teaching Grade 5/6 students

• Certification or eligibility to teach in Ontario

• Strong lesson delivery and classroom management skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

• Commitment to inclusivity and diversity in education
