Upper Grand District School Board invites applications for the role of Educational Assistant, providing vital support to students with unique needs at various school locations. Positions can be part-time or full-time.

This temporary role at UGDSB offers the chance to work directly with students who have diverse challenges, including behavioral and physical needs. The ideal candidate will have a focus on empathy and will be trained to handle specialized requirements in education. You'll collaborate with classroom teachers and administration to ensure effective support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the diverse needs of students in classrooms

• Assist with physical support tasks including lifting and toileting

• Work with teachers, parents, and administration in a collaborative manner

• Adapt to the educational environment to meet individual needs

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

• Diploma in Educational Assistance or equivalent experience

• Valid Behaviour Management Systems certification required

• Proven track record working with special needs students

• Training in Autism Spectrum Disorder is advantageous

• Must be physically able to fulfill job requirements
