Support diverse student needs as an Educational Assistant at Centre Wellington District High School, using patience, empathy, and Behaviour Management Systems certification.
The Upper Grand District School Board seeks a temporary, full-time Educational Assistant for a 1.0 FTE position. You will support students’ behaviour, safety, medical, and physical needs while working individually or in groups. The position requires collaboration with teachers, parents, and Administration.
Key Responsibilities:- Support students with diverse behavioural, safety, medical, and physical needs
- Lift, toilet, position, and transfer children and equipment
- Apply Behaviour Management Systems techniques where required
- Work with students individually and in group settings
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and Administration
- Educational Assistant Diploma or equivalent education and work experience
- Post-secondary degree in a related field
- Valid Behaviour Management Systems certification
- Recent experience with special needs and behavioural disabilities preferred
- Autism Spectrum Disorder and Lifting/Positioning Training
