Overview
We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Linear Municipal Infrastructure team. Our team specializes in the critical networks that keep a community moving and connected, including water mains, sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, and roadways.
This is a new position and is based at our Guelph, Kitchener, North York or Downtown Toronto office. We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.

ResponsibilitiesAbout the Position
Project Management and Design
- Assist project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design of municipal infrastructure related to roads, water supply, sewers, roadway drainage, land development site servicing, storm water management and waste management for a variety of locations including Northern Canada
- Assist project managers, engineers, environmental scientists and others on a variety of multidisciplinary design teams (including project engineers, planners, biologists, technologists, etc.)
- Complete design activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project completion
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
- Assist with fieldwork in a variety of locations including Northern Canada, on an as needed basis to provide construction observation, monitoring and data collection activities
- We empower our teams to automate the routine so they can focus on high-value, creative problem-solving. You will be encouraged to experiment with AI-enabled tools to push the boundaries of traditional design.

- Proactively seek and cultivate new, long-term business opportunities that align with our sustainability goals and drive responsible growth, including submissions responding to requests for proposals, preparation of proposals and statements of qualification
- Travel to other Dillon offices as needed to support collaboration, share knowledge, and drive growth across the firm.

- Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
- Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
- Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in your field or eligible to register.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering.
- Proven expertise in municipal infrastructure, developed through 5+ years of experience in consulting or related fields, with a track record of technical leadership.
- Proven project management and business development capabilities
- Knowledge of the functional and detailed design of integrated municipal infrastructure including roads, sewers and water mains
- Understand a range of project design and implementation activities including development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, and contract administration
