Reporting to the Manager of Policy Planning, the Planner (Policy) plays a crucial role in creating and monitoring planning policies aligned with the County’s Official Plan. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in policy analysis and local government collaboration, focusing on climate change and Indigenous affairs. This key position supports Councils and local committees, fostering successful public engagement in planning issues.
Key Responsibilities:
• Formulate and implement local planning policies
• Support municipalities on planning matters
• Present findings to local councils and committees
• Conduct research and data collection on relevant topics
• Prepare reports on planning applications
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in planning or related field
• Minimum three years of policy experience
• Registration as a Professional Planner in Ontario
• Knowledge of the Planning Act and provincial policies
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
