We are seeking a Project Manager, Regulatory Compliance to support our clients in navigating formula compliance, labeling requirements, and regulatory strategy for dietary supplements and foods across the U.S. and Canadian markets. This role manages multiple client projects and delivers clear, actionable regulatory guidance in a dynamic consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Program Manager, Regulatory and Training Services, in providing expert regulatory guidance on formula and label compliance for dietary supplements and foods in the U.S. and Canada.
- Review U.S. conventional food and dietary supplement formulations for alignment with ingredient permissions under 21 CFR, GRAS notices, and NDIN databases; review Canadian conventional and supplemented food formulations under Health Canada and CFIA regulations.
- Review label text and finished artwork for compliance, including Supplement Facts/Nutrition Facts panels, ingredient statements, and other mandatory elements.
- Assess, develop, and substantiate product claims (health, nutrient content, and food-based claims) and support structure/function claim substantiation for U.S. dietary supplements.
- Monitor, interpret, and summarize regulatory changes in the U.S. and Canada for internal and client-facing use.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and client communication, ensuring clear expectations and on-time delivery.
- Draft regulatory reports, assessments, and client-facing summaries with a high standard of accuracy and clarity.
- Maintain strong organization and documentation practices across multiple concurrent client projects.
- Collaborate with internal team members and third-party partners as needed to support project objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Biology, or a related field (graduate degree an asset).
- 3–5+ years of regulatory experience in dietary supplements and/or foods; consulting experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of FDA regulations (21 CFR), DSHEA, FTC advertising requirements, and Health Canada/FDR and CFIA labeling regulations.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing formulas, claims, and labels for regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulations into clear, practical guidance for clients.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong prioritization and follow-up skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related software.
Salary Range: $65K-$85K
