- Education:
College/CEGEP - Experience:
2 years to less than 3 years Work setting - Hospital/medical facility or clinic Tasks
- Operate ultrasound imaging equipment to produce and record images
- Monitor examination to evaluate quality and consistency of diagnostic images, and make adjustments to equipment, as required
- Record, store and process scanned images by using camera unit connected to the ultrasound equipment
- Prepare examination reports for physicians
- Check ultrasound equipment to ensure proper operation Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Certification
- Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Registration
- Certification by a provincial or territorial association Work conditions and physical capabilities
