Elevate your career as a Lab Patient Technician Float at Life Labs in Guelph, ON. Engage with patients while performing critical specimen collection duties.
This part-time float position allows you to travel between Guelph and Fergus, assisting in the vital role of specimen collection and patient communication 'll greet patients, explain the specimen collection process, perform phlebotomy, and get involved with special testing, ensuring all procedures are documented accurately. Your ability to manage client relationships and maintain data integrity will be key.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet patients and explain specimen preparation processes
• Perform phlebotomy and process ECG readings effectively
• Handle documentation for special collections, including drug testing
• Respond to client inquiries and follow up as necessary
• Prepare specimens correctly for lab transportation
Requirements:
• Graduate of approved Laboratory Assistant program is preferred
• Experience in phlebotomy and ECG is a plus
• Strong computer skills with at least 40 wpm typing speed
• Excellent patient service abilities under stress
• Maintain strict confidentiality and empathetic interaction
