Reportingtothe Managerof Human Resources ,the Recruitment
Specialisthasstrongfocusintheareasofrecruitmentandselection,employee onboarding,changeandoffboarding,toensureacustomerservice-centeredexperienceforouremployees.
The Recruitment Specialistisresponsiblefordevelopingproactiverecruitmentandoutreachstrategiesandwillcollaboratewithhiringmanagerstoleadandfacilitatefullcyclerecruitmentactivitiestomeet Countyof Wellington priorities ,whileensuringthatprocessesandpracticesadheretoemploymentlegislation,allapplicablepolicies,andcollectiveagreement.
Thispositionwillleadvariousrecruitmentinitiativesincluding,representing the
Countyatcareerfairs,developmentofinternalandexternalrecruitmentoutreachevents,aswellasestablishingrelationshipswithcolleges,universitiesandotherorganizations.
Undertheguidanceofthe Managerof Human Resources (HR),the Recruitment
Specialisthasthefollowingdutiesandresponsibilities:
- Responsibleforallaspectsoftherecruitmentandselectionprocessfor Non-Unionand Union positions.
- Prepareemploymentdocumentation,coordinateapprovalswithhiringmanagers/department heads,andenteremployeesintoJDEdwardsandthe Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
- Preparehireandchangepackagesforpayroll;ensureaccuracyandcompletenessofallemploymentdocumentation,completedformsrelatingtopayroll,pensionandbenefitsareprovidedtopayrollbytherequireddeadline.
- Trackandoverseeconditionsofemployment,suchas
Police Vulnerable Sector Check ,proofofeducation/designation,proofofvalidlicence,driver’sabstracts,etc. - Coordinatethehiringandrehiringofsummerstudentsandseasonalemployees.
- Trackcontractenddatesandadvisemanagers/departmentheadsaccordingly.
- Coordinateandattendthe Countyemploymentboothatcareerfairsandotherevents.
- AssistemployeeswithchangesandupdatingpersonalinformationforHRrecords.
- Conductemployeeleaveofabsencemeetingsforbothlegislatedleavesofabsenceandothertypesofapprovedleavesofabsence,toreviewbenefitsplan,pensionplanandemploymententitlementswhileonleave;completeleaveinformationpackageandrequireddocumentation.
- Complete off-boardingprocessforexitingemployees;performexitinterviews,whenapplicablenotifythedepartmenthead,CAOandDirectorofHRofspecificareasrequiringreview/attention;manageexitinterviewstatistics,includingcompilingresultssubmittedviatheonlineexitsurvey.
- Assistwithplanningandfacilitatingthe New Hire Orientationprogrammefornewemployees .
- Prepareandreceiveresponsesforrequeststothe Unionand Employee Councilimpactingrecruitmentandemployeechangesinconsultationwith HRManagementasrequired.
