Sandbox Software is seeking a Tier 2 Infrastructure Support Specialist to support and maintain our AWS-hosted infrastructure and customer-facing environments. This role is ideal for someone with strong Linux administration experience who enjoys troubleshooting complex hosting, server, networking, and application issues.
As a Tier 2 team member, you will serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 support, working closely with Tier 3 and internal development teams to maintain secure, reliable, and high-performing environments across our managed hosting applications and web platforms.

Required Skills & Experience- Strong experience administering Linux-based servers in production environments.
- Experience supporting AWS infrastructure, including EC2, Lightsail, RDS, S3, IAM, Route 53, Cloud Watch, and networking fundamentals.
- Solid understanding of DNS, SSL/TLS certificates, web hosting, and application connectivity troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting LAMP stack environments, including Linux, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, and PHP.
- Experience troubleshooting Word Press hosting and performance issues.
- Familiarity with Java application hosting environments such as Apache Tomcat.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including firewalls, routing, load balancing, and web application traffic flow.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues using a structured troubleshooting approach.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills to keep clients and internal teams informed.
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, Sys Ops Administrator, and/or Cloud Practitioner.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and logging platforms.
- Experience with Bash, Python, or infrastructure automation tools.
- Familiarity with security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and incident response processes.
- Experience supporting high‑availability and disaster recovery environments.
- Exposure to web application firewalls (WAF), CDN platforms, and security‑focused hosting environments.
Experience with SOC2 or ISO
27001 compliance frameworks.- Experience with SMTP and troubleshooting mail delivery issues.
- Experience with Windows Server administration.
- Exposure to Microsoft 365 administration, the Azure Cloud and Entra .
- Infrastructure Operations
- Manage and support AWS-hosted infrastructure, including EC2, Lightsail, RDS, S3, Route 53, IAM, and related services.
- Perform routine maintenance, patching, upgrades, and system administration tasks across Linux environments.
- Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and availability, responding to alerts and incidents as required.
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Act as the primary escalation point for Tier 1 support on infrastructure and hosting-related issues.
- Troubleshoot server, networking, DNS, SSL, web application, and email delivery issues.
- Investigate and resolve performance, availability, and security incidents affecting hosted environments.
- Support Word Press, LAMP stack, and Tomcat-based applications running in production environments.
- Security & Reliability
- Assist with server hardening, access management, patch management, and vulnerability remediation activities.
- Participate in security investigations and infrastructure-related incident response activities.
- Help maintain compliance with internal security standards and operational best practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-base articles.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to infrastructure, monitoring, automation, and support processes.
- Collaborate with development, web, and infrastructure teams to improve platform reliability and operational efficiency.

- Annual Salary: $45,000 to $60,000
