Winter Control Labourer

Join the City of Guelph's Public Works team as a Winter Control Labourer Operator, focusing on snow removal and roadway safety. This seasonal role involves shifting hours and operating winter equipment during snowstorms.

This temporary position runs from November 2026 until mid-April 2027. You will be responsible for safe equipment operation and maintaining the quality of roads and sidewalks. The role emphasizes quality customer service alongside participation in team efforts for improved outcomes in our winter operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate tractors with plow attachments safely

• Remove snow and ice from roads and sidewalks

• Complete daily logs and report equipment issues

• Collaborate effectively with a team environment

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 education

• 1 year related experience in winter control

• Class G license;
Class DZ preferred

• Good driving record and mechanical skills

• Ability to perform physical work in adverse conditions
