Overview

Are you a natural leader with a passion for manufacturing excellence? Randstad, the global leader in talent solutions, is seeking a Team Leader for a premier client in the Guelph area. This critical role within our Manufacturing & Logistics division will drive operational success on the production floor.

As a Team Leader, you are the heartbeat of the production shift. You will oversee production operations, ensuring equipment runs efficiently and your team meets its targets. In this manufacturing environment you will manage shift transitions, monitor powder usage, and ensure all mix sheets are prepared to avoid downtime. Safety and quality are paramount; you will lead by example, reinforce proper use of PPE, conduct health and safety audits, oversee batch sampling, and use quality testing equipment to verify product runs.

Within a Randstad operational framework you will promote 7S and ISO standards to achieve the highest level of organizational efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the production shift operations to meet daily output goals
  • Control and monitor the production and usage of PPL-Bag House Powder
  • Ensure all Mix Sheets are prepared in advance for seamless production flow
  • Manage smooth shift transitions at the beginning and end of each workday
  • Oversee the entire batch sampling process and assist in quality verification
  • Utilize specialized quality testing equipment to make necessary corrections to product runs
  • Supervise and reinforce the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Conduct regular health and safety audits and lead accident investigations when necessary
  • Promote and reinforce 7S and Lean Manufacturing principles on the floor
  • Complete all required administrative paperwork and calculate order closing information

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to stand for periods of up to 9 hours
  • Capability to perform repetitive lifting of up to 55 lbs
  • Comfort working in an environment with exposure to dust, powder coating, and noise
  • Willingness to wear required PPE (mask, eye protection, ear plugs) for full shifts
  • Fluency in English (Reading, Writing, and Speaking)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Familiarity with SAP software (highly preferred)
  • Skills in Human Resource management and health & safety principles
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a high‑pressure, stressful environment
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality management systems
