Join Semex as a Laboratory Technician in Guelph, Ontario, to produce genetic solutions that enhance dairy and beef herds worldwide. This full-time role includes rotating day and night shifts in a collaborative lab environment.
You will play a critical role in the production process by evaluating semen quality and preparing samples for further processing. Responsibilities also include operating flow cytometry machines and adhering strictly to quality assurance protocols. Your attention to detail and team-oriented mindset will contribute to our commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess semen quality by measuring concentration and volume
• Prepare semen samples for efficient sorting
• Maintain and calibrate lab equipment to optimal performance
• Conduct purity analysis and track machine efficiency
• Safely manage sample storage under cold conditions
Requirements:
• Degree in Biotechnology or a similar field preferred
• Relevant lab experience, preferably 1-2 years
• Experience in sample preparation techniques
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a cold environment
