Poly‑Nova opened in Guelph in 1996. We have a 30,000 square foot manufacturing plant and employ about 150 employees. We produce rubber products for the automotive and power transmission industries. Our areas of expertise include rubber molding, material development, engineering, injection molding and over‑molding. In 2011 we were purchased by Starlim Sterner, a market leader in silicone liquid injection molding, with a head office in Austria and a manufacturing plant in London, Ontario.

ElectricianPosition Overview
The Industrial Maintenance Electrician supports production by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment to ensure continuous and efficient operations. This role performs preventative and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment, minimizes downtime, and maintains a safe working environment. Working in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting, the technician applies strong multi‑trade skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems. The role also involves responding to equipment issues, supporting facility maintenance across locations, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Compensation: $40‑$45 per hour.
Objectives- Support production and maintenance troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production machines based on priority.
- Ensure continuous running of all production equipment.
- Complete work in a safe manner.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul, and repair machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building and facility equipment at three locations.
- Work under pressure and deadlines to troubleshoot, find root cause, and repair equipment to minimize downtime.
- Complete assigned work orders.
- Observe all safety regulations and lock‑out procedures.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
- Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Operate hoists and lifting devices such as cranes, scissor lifts, and forklifts.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and work on projects as assigned.
- 442A licensed Industrial Electrician.
- 3‑5 years of multi‑trade manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Injection molding experience an asset with thermoplastic or rubber.
- Hands‑on technical machine repair and troubleshooting knowledge working with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and PLC‑controlled production machinery.
- Exposure to and knowledge of robotics and automation, bowl feeders, and vision inspection systems.
- Proven initiative, ability to balance competing priorities, and capacity to learn new tasks quickly.
- Proven ability to work in a safe manner and follow all health and safety policies.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Self‑starter and proven team player.
