CpK Interior Products Inc. is hiring an INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER (15 MONTH CONTRACT)to support our team in cross‑functional operational activities. This role is responsible for planning and overseeing layout of equipment and production facilities. Evaluating operations to maximize work flow and floor space utilization. Ensuring facility efficiency and workplace safety. Has knowledge of commonly‑used concepts, practices, and procedures within Industrial Engineering and Lean Manufacturing, while contributing to Plant SQDCM (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale) objectives.

What You’ll Do
(Key responsibilities, not limited to)

  • Study manufacturing machines and methods and take the necessary actions to meet and continuously improve established production standards
  • Support new product launches, and product transfers
  • Active member of all Product Development Teams, supporting teams with process development, documented layouts and time studies
  • Evaluate new/current processes, investigate and pursue new/improved methods of manufacture to reduce production costs
  • Investigate and develop any tooling/equipment that will improve operator safety or efficiency
  • Consult with and advise production supervisor and engineers on efficiency problems relative to methods, tooling, handling or design
  • Interview vendors to evaluate new equipment or products and determine qualifications and application
  • Establish standard manufacturing methods and procedures
  • Establish safe production cycle time standards through time studies
  • Prepare and maintain time study and process sheet information for all products/processes
  • Perform necessary research to compile cost justification data for equipment or materials
  • Ensure work procedures are in accordance with TS/ISO 16949, IATF standards with respect to quality of work, maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area, and protection of the environment.
  • Ability to lead and participate in team based problem solving
  • Understanding of and ability to use predetermined Time study system such as M.O.S.T
  • Understanding of and ability to use time and motion based study systems such as stop watch, video method, etc.
  • Understanding and ability to apply concepts of Takt time, Cycle time, PF&D, NVAA, etc
  • Understanding and ability to apply line balancing and sequencing to current and proposed processes
  • Understanding and ability to apply ergonomic analysis and work concepts to operator work stations and material handling equipment.
  • Ability to conceive design and develop simple work fixtures
  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or related field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Automotive assembly
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
