Machine Operator – Industrial Production / Powder Coating

Step into a stable, long-term position with a world-class employer in Guelph’s vibrant industrial sector. We are looking for a detail-driven Machine Operator to run, monitor, and maintain automated equipment responsible for manufacturing premium powder coating products.

In this role, you will manage batch setups, interface with computer-controlled systems, handle equipment line switchovers, and perform rigorous quality control checks. Working under Lean Manufacturing and 7S standards, you will serve as a vital link in the production process—ensuring top product quality while keeping safety and efficiency high.

Responsibilities
- Machine Operations:
Program, monitor, and run automated production systems to process powder coatings.
- Line Switchovers:
Disassemble, deep clean, and reconfigure tooling between production cycles to prevent batch cross-contamination.
- Quality Assurance:
Collect batch samples, perform spray panel tests, and inspect products for color accuracy and quality standards.
- Material Management:
Collect powder remnants to limit waste, and package, label, and skid finished goods.
- Logistics & Safety:
Safely operate a forklift (if certified) to move skids, keep accurate batch tracking records, and uphold strict 7S safety protocols.

Qualifications

- Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

- Experience:

At least 1 year of hands-on experience in an industrial or factory environment. (Background in chemical processing, paint, or powder coating is a strong asset).
- Physical Capabilities:
Able to stand, bend, and move for 8 to 9 hours, and comfortably lift up to 55 lbs repeatedly.
- PPE Compliance:
Comfortable wearing required PPE, including respirators/masks, safety eyewear, and hearing protection.
- Language

Skills:

Fluent written and spoken English proficiency required for batch documentation and safety compliance.
- Forklift:
Valid certification or readiness to complete in-house forklift training.
