Operate CNC brake presses to bend and form steel or aluminum sheet metal according to precise job specifications. Use tooling, programming, and measuring skills.
The CNC Brake Operator sets up computer numerical control machines for manufacturing transportation and conveying solutions. You will select tooling, adjust settings, load materials, and program bend angles and dimensions. Precision and safety guide each production task.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up brake presses using job specifications and appropriate tooling
- Program CNC controls with bend angles, dimensions, and tooling requirements
- Position sheet metal accurately for bending and forming operations
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Record production data, settings, quantities, and inspection results
- Experience operating brake presses or similar fabrication equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings
- Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and basic math skills
- Knowledge of safety standards, hand tools, and metal alloys
Apply CNC programming, brake press operation, and inspection skills to produce accurately formed metal components.
