Job OverviewThe Senior Communications & Content Manager, reporting into the Vice President of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing Gateway's communications strategy while creating compelling content that strengthens our brand, supports business growth, and engages employees, veterinary partners, pet parents, customers, and industry stakeholders.
Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, this role serves as Gateway's lead storyteller, copywriter, and strategic communications partner. The successful candidate will develop messaging, create engaging content, manage editorial calendars, own key communication channels, and ensure Gateway communicates with one clear, consistent voice across every touchpoint.
This is a highly collaborative, hands‑on role that works closely with the Senior Marketing Manager, Brand & Operations to translate messaging into marketing campaigns, creative assets, and customer experiences. In a lean organization, both roles are expected to collaborate, support one another, and contribute wherever needed while maintaining clear ownership of their primary responsibilities.
Duties & Responsibilities Communications Strategy & Editorial Planning- Partner with the Vice President of Marketing to develop and execute Gateway's internal and external communications strategy.
- Develop integrated communication plans supporting brand campaigns, business priorities, recruiting, product launches, executive communications, employee engagement, and corporate initiatives.
- Build and manage editorial and content calendars across website, public relations, internal communications, social media, sales enablement, and executive communications.
- Ensure all communications reinforce Gateway's mission, values, brand pillars, and Gold Standard positioning.
Serve as Gateway's primary writer and editor across all communication channels.
- Write website copy, landing pages, brochures, presentations, sales messaging, email communications, executive messaging, press releases, campaign copy, customer communications, internal communications, and thought leadership content.
- Develop messaging frameworks that ensure consistency across all communications.
- Translate complex topics into clear, compelling, audience‑appropriate communications.
- Interview employees, customers, veterinary partners, executives, and subject matter experts to uncover meaningful stories.
- Develop customer testimonials, employee stories, case studies, executive thought leadership, and success stories.
- Collect team member testimonials that strengthen recruiting, culture, and employer branding.
- Edit and refine content created by executives, internal teams, and agency partners.
- Partner with the Senior Marketing Manager to bring messaging to life through compelling creative assets and integrated campaigns.
- Develop website messaging and copy for corporate websites, landing pages, educational resources, and recruiting content.
- Write press releases, award submissions, media materials, executive talking points, company announcements, and thought leadership content.
- Support speaking engagements, media opportunities, and public relations initiatives.
- Develop Gateway's social media content strategy and editorial calendar.
- Write engaging social media content supporting recruiting, education, company culture, customer engagement, and brand awareness.
- Partner with the Senior Marketing Manager on campaign execution and performance optimization.
Own and manage The Water Bowl, Gateway's employee intranet.
