Registered Nurse - OR; GMCH

POSITION OVERVIEW:

A temporary part‑time Registered Nurse position is available in the Operating Room. The role will provide comprehensive nursing care within the OR, Endoscopy Suite, Day Surgery, and Recovery Room according to the standards of nursing practice and GMCH policies.

• Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing (CNO)
• BScN an asset
• Post‑Graduate Course in Perioperative Nursing required
• Membership in RNAO and CNA an asset
• 1‑3 years operating‑room experience
• Current BCLS certification
• Current ACLS & PALS certificate or willingness to obtain
• Post‑Anesthetic Care Nursing certificate/course or willingness to obtain
• Prepared to work in all areas of the Surgical Suite on a rotating basis
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and critical‑thinking skills
• Effective interdisciplinary team member
• Leadership/charge role capability
• Understanding of evidence‑based practice and OR nursing standards
• Commitment to continuing education and departmental activities
• Satisfactory performance and attendance required
• Satisfactory reference checks required prior to start date
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check required
• Pre‑Employment Health Assessment required before hire

• Standard OR, PACU, Endoscopy, Day Surgery hours:
  Monday‑Friday as required, with a regular monthly rotation of stand‑by including call‑backs.
• Must be able to respond to on‑call within a specified timeframe.

$41.15 – $58.98 per hour
