Department: Student Wellness Services
Temporary full-time from 08/04/2026 to 07/30/2027.
Reporting to Manager, Clinical Services, the Nurse Supervisor oversees the daily, hands‑on operations of the Student Health Services clinic. This role focuses on coordinating staff schedules, optimizing clinic workflows, and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day service delivery. While maintaining foundational nursing standards, the position emphasizes operational problem‑solving, staff support, and execution of clinic initiatives over full‑time casework or high‑level strategic planning. Incumbent will work alongside clinic staff during special clinic events which may be after regular business hours and/or off‑site.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Manage daily floor operations to maintain efficient student patient flow.
- Adjust staff assignments in real‑time to meet changing clinic volumes.
- Resolve immediate, day‑to‑day operational bottlenecks and scheduling conflicts.
- Build and maintain regular shift schedules for the nursing team.
- Coordinate logistics, staffing, and supply setups for specialized public health clinics.
- Act as the direct operational point of contact for inventory and equipment needs.
- Serve as the first line of technical and procedural support for staff questions.
- Onboard new nursing staff on clinic practices and guidelines, Infection Prevention and Control protocols, and daily routines.
- Oversight of supply inventory and management.
- Communicate and champion clinical initiatives and policy changes directly to the HS clinical team.
- Assist with the collection of statistics and metrics.
- Participate in departmental committees (Health and Safety Committee) and any relevant working groups.
- Support clinical processes such as Release of Personal Health Information.
- Develop and regularly review Medical Directives.
- Assist with annual GOAL 2.0 performance success framework.
- Education and Licensure:
Undergraduate degree and a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, coupled with at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. - Current Basic Rescuer CPR certification.
- Advanced clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
- Experience working in a post‑secondary environment with both students and campus partners.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and harm reduction approaches in health care delivery.
- Strong competence in IPAC measures and primary care practices.
- Strong organizational and time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.

The target hiring salary for this position is minimum and up to 96% of midpoint for the salary grade.
