- Deliver standardizedrTMStreatments at approved motor thresholds under medical order/delegation in adherence with CNO’s controlled act framework.
- Assist with patient preparation and setup ofrTMSequipment, coil placement using standardized methods.
- Monito r and assess patients during and afterrTMSsessions; tracking neurological and physiological responses, documenting observations
- Provide pre-procedure teaching and post procedure care, screening for safety /risk factors
- Maintain treatment records, calibrate and perform basic troubleshooting ofrTMSequipment
- Support other IPS services (ECT, Ketamine) according to protocol, including vital signs monitoring, IV management/maintenance and psychiatric assessments
- Collaborate in interdisciplinary meetings, patient/family conferences, and clinical reviews, elevate any concerns promptly
- Mentor and precept new staffor students during IPS service shifts as required.
- Provide nursing care in accordance withRPN Scope of Practice for patients receiving medical intervention of Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), Intravenous Ketamine therapy and/or Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS)
- Receive patient assignments and follow care plans accordingly
- Administer psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications and treatments
- Prepare and administer intravenous medications
- Accept changing work assignments across Homewood Specialized Services asneededand directed by supervisor and/or delegate
- Registered as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing
- Post secondary diploma in Practical Nursing
- Successful completion of a recognized rTMS Training Program (g., CAMH Temerity Centre or equivalent)
- Proof of completion must be provided with the application
- Demonstrated competence to independently deliver rTMS treatments following orientation, including safe patient screening, standardized treatment delivery, monitoring, documentation and escalation of concerns.
- Demonstrated competence in applying controlled-act delegation principles
- Current knowledge and experience specific to emergency mental health and crisis intervention
- Experience with neuromodulation, IV therapy, and post-anesthesia recovery
- Training and experience withIVlinemanagement
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Strong assessment, documentation, problem solving and organizational skills
- Skilled in the treatment of psychiatric disorders, including PTSD, suicide prevention and the management of aggressive behaviour
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Act and community mental health resources
- Knowledge of CNO documentation standard sand PHIPPA
- Proven excellence with communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and organizational skills
