Day surgery recovery is central to this RPN opportunity at Guelph General Hospital, with primarily day-based 8-hour shifts. Serve patients at two Guelph locations.
This Registered Practical Nurse role supports patient experience and care outcomes through accountable professional practice. Recent day surgery or surgical experience, conscious sedation recovery expertise, and current intravenous skills are essential. You will communicate with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues while documenting care.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients during recovery from conscious sedation
- Coordinate patient care activities with the care team
- Communicate patient information clearly and professionally
- Document patient care activities accurately
- Manage intravenous insertion and related skills
- Registered Practical Nurse registration with the College of Nurses
- Basic Life Support certification
- Recent day surgery or surgical experience
- Recent outpatient or surgical experience preferred
- Strong assessment, organization, and decision-making skills
