Veterinary Technician ICU at OVC

Elevate animal care as a Registered Veterinary Technician in the Intensive Care Unit at Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario. Support diverse patient needs and enhance client relations while working in a dynamic environment.

This temporary, part-time position requires you to work closely with a dedicated healthcare team at the OVC Health Sciences Centre. As an RVT in the ICU, you'll coordinate patient care, evaluate health statuses, and maintain medical records for both companion and large animals.

Your role is critical in mentoring students and supporting operational needs across various units during your shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in building client caseloads with excellent service

• Coordinate and communicate patient care with service areas

• Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring confidentiality

• Administer prescribed drugs and perform diagnostic tests

• Prepare and monitor anesthesia under the anesthesiologist's guidance

Requirements:

• Two-year College Diploma in Veterinary Technology

• OAVT accreditation and good standing required

• 1-2 years experience as an RVT preferred

• Anesthesia experience is advantageous

• Flexibility in scheduling required
