This position is part of a unionized bargaining unit. The hourly wage for this position starts at $18.00 - $21.35 and is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, and prior experience, a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role, whether starting or higher, will fall within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.

This is a posting for an existing permanent full-time position.

Be part of a dedicated overnight team that keeps our store running smoothly behind the scenes! As an Overnight Grocery Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring shelves are fully stocked, organized, and ready for customers each morning.

Our grocery team is essential to the success of Food Basics, and we are looking for reliable individuals who take pride in their work and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. If you are detail-oriented and enjoy staying active, we want you on our team!

What You’ll Do:

• Unload deliveries and organize products in the backroom or cooler.
• Stock shelves with incoming inventory, ensuring items are placed in the correct locations.
• Face and level products to maintain a clean and organized appearance throughout the store.
• Rotate stock using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method.
• Set up and maintain promotional displays and end caps.
• Ensure accurate pricing, signage, and product labelling.
• Keep aisles, shelves, and work areas clean, safe, and free of hazards.
• Sweep and mop floors, and promptly address spills to maintain a safe environment.
• Conduct inventory checks and report discrepancies or damaged goods to management.
• Assist with additional tasks or projects as assigned by management.
• Adhere to all company policies, as well as health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Customer service driven.
• Able to stock merchandise and create displays.
• Good product knowledge and attention to detail.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Retail experience is considered an asset.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time and work under minimal supervision.
• Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
