As a Surveillance Security Guard, you will be the person spotting threats before they escalate in environments such as security operation centres, call centers, construction sites, parking lots and gatehouses, etc.

Responsibilities for Surveillance Security Guard

Maintain accurate and up-to-date truck logs to ensure proper documentation and tracking

Manage site access by signing in and out visitors, contractors, and drivers

Ensure all trucks are properly processed upon arrival and departure in accordance with site procedures

Provide professional customer service to drivers, visitors, and staff as needed

Act as a liaison between gate operations and the shipping department to support efficient workflow

Perform access control duties, including verifying identification and authorizing entry to secure areas

Monitor security systems (e.g., cameras, alarms) to detect suspicious activity or irregularities

Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, or potential security threats

Document all incidents and observations in detailed, accurate reports

Conduct routine foot patrols to maintain safety and security of the premises

Inspect and analyze security systems to identify vulnerabilities or malfunctions

Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services during serious incidents or critical situations

Qualifications for Surveillance Security Guard

Be authorized to work in Canada

Hold a valid security license

First aid certification required

Strong report writing skills

Good eyesight and excellent ability to maintain focus

Strong proficiency with technology

Ability to stand and walk throughout shift
