Developmental Services Worker at YMCA

Empower students with developmental disabilities as a Developmental Services Worker at YMCA of Three Rivers in Guelph, Ontario. This temporary full-time role focuses on supporting individuals to achieve their full potential.

You will engage in a 10-month contract, helping students beyond just educational success. This role requires addressing social-emotional barriers, acting as a liaison, and assisting with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to foster independence and skill development for employment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Address barriers to employment success in students

• Liaise with schools, parents, and community agencies

• Assist in developing action plans and IEPs

• Encourage students to see themselves as competent learners

• Support student success in co-op placements

Requirements:

• Diploma in Development or Social Services Work

• Experience with young adults or students with disabilities

• Familiarity with community and school systems

• Proven advocacy for people with disabilities

• Valid driver’s licence and transportation method
