Child and Youth Counsellor at UGDSB

Make a positive impact on students as a Child and Youth Counsellor with the Upper Grand District School Board. This full-time role focuses on emotional support, programming, and student well-being.

The UGDSB is looking for a dedicated Child and Youth Counsellor to provide essential support to students at Willow Road Public School. This temporary 1.0 FTE role involves helping students overcome emotional barriers and developing preventive behavioral programming. You'll work closely with students, parents, and community agencies to facilitate social skills and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Address emotional barriers to student success

• Develop preventive social/behavioral programming

• Provide direct social and emotional support to students

• Liaise with parents and community agencies

• Assist in action plan and IEP development

Requirements:

• Child and Youth Worker Diploma or Degree

• Experience supporting students with behavioral needs

• Knowledge of pro-active solutions and related methodologies

• Certified member of Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care

• Individual and group counseling experience
